Jonathan Leake is a Master Instructor at Jenks Beauty College. Jonathan started his career in cosmetology in 2006 assisting his favorite Cosmetologist in the Tulsa area, He has since found great joy and passion  in passing along his knowledge he has gained over the years to new up and coming professionals who have decided to enter this wonderful career.

Rachel is a Master Instructor in Cosmetology. Between holding her Manicuring and Cosmetology licenses she has been in the industry for 10 years. Rachel’s career was built at Smart Style over the last 6 years with 5 of those as a Salon Manager.

Her love for teaching began at a young age which resulted in her tutoring in High School as well as teaching the children at church. Rachel’s goal in teaching is to prepare the students not only to pass their State Boards but to also prepare them for what the real world salon environment requires. She wants to make then classroom an fun environment so that the students are excited to come learn each day.

When not in the classroom she is busy in the salon trying to schedule clients in over a few days. She also does hair at a nursing home in whatever is left of her free time not spent with my boyfriend.

Sabrina Maynard is a Financial Aid Specialist at Jenks Beauty College. Prior to joining the team of Jenks Beauty College in 2021, she was a Financial Aid Specialist at a previous college and has 8 years of experience in financial aid. She received her Master’s Degree in School Administration from Northeastern State University. She has a passion for education and takes great pride in assisting others with pursuing a higher education. Sabrina enjoys spending time with her family, camping, going to concerts and traveling.

My name is Akia Wagoner. I started doing hair at the age of 13. I knew what I wanted to do by the age of 18 when I graduated from high school I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the cosmetology field. I thought I was going to be a make-up artist but once I started doing hair I truly fell in love. I graduated from Owasso Beauty College in 1993 went back in 1994 and got my instructor’s license. My father converted his garage into a salon rest in peace Big Daddy Johnnie Ball. So I have been a self-employed business owner for 29 years of Akia‘s house of styles. My story is truly a blessing from God.

Christopher T. Westmoreland is the Registrar for the Jenks Beauty College.  Prior to joining the team at Jenks Beauty College Christopher worked for the Veterans Administration and Northeastern State University.  This has given him an insight into higher education and the college experience.

His experiences at both the Veterans administration and Northeastern State University has given him experiences in Advising, Research, Career Services, and Financial Aid.

Christopher is married with a daughter, is a published author, and has a Bachelor Degree in English Literature with a focus in Creative Writing which was obtained from Northeastern State University.  He enjoys reading, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and taking time to enjoy the little things.

Jamison White is a master educator with 25 years’ experience. He hold two master instructor licenses in Barbering and Cosmetology. He has worked as a mentor, Salon Manager and stylist behind the chair. He also specializes in hair restoration as he was a salon supervisor for Hairclub for 5 years. He is very passionate about teaching students and sharing his experience to provide them with a more in depth learning curriculum.

Brooklyn is a Licensed Esthetician and Esthetician Instructor. After attending Jenks Beauty College as a student, she’s thrilled to be able to return as an instructor and instill the skills and knowledge to current students that was imparted on her. Her passion and the willingness to learn new things in the ever-changing field of Esthetics is what drives her to be a better Esthetician and instructor for her student body.

My name is Kara, I am a master instructor, I have been in the cosmetology industry since 2015. I enjoy watching the students embrace and develop a passion for the industry. When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my son and friends. I also really enjoy being at the lake. If I could give one piece of advice for potential students it would be, Go for it!- if you don’t take a chance in life, you’ll never know what the end result could be!

My name is Reggie Jones, and I am the customer relations specialist here at Jenks Beauty College. I enjoy dancing, hanging out with family and friends, and spending time with my dog. I love helping people, and I am excited to meet and assist any customers in need!

Karlette Morrison is the Jenks Beauty College Nail Technology Department Head, that holds a CND Grand Master Certification, who educates students on the fundamentals of Nail Technology, as well as current nail trends and the standards of Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering. Karlette has been in the Nail Technology industry for 15+ years and is a licensed Nail Tech working in a prominent Tulsa salon where she had the privilege of taking care of two reigning Miss Oklahoma title holders.

What Karlette enjoys most about teaching is helping students learn the building blocks needed to pass their state board exam and be the best version of themselves professionally. Preparing students with conscious knowledge, of safe product usage and proper sanitation for their career is her passion. Current Nail Art Trends and engaging new students in theory is among her favorite things about being in the classroom. Karlette looks forward to becoming a mentor as well as instructor to the next generation of Nail Technicians. When Karlette is not teaching she enjoys spending time with her family, attending various concerts, and continuing Nail Tech education events.

Kimberly James is a Master Educator at Jenks Beauty College with 9 years of experience in the beauty industry. She graduated from Clary Sage College in 2011 with a Cosmetology certification and again in 2019 with a Master Educator certification.

She has 2 gorgeous girls named Kailyn and Kennedy. Kimberly has always had a dream of becoming a Master Educator because she loves to help stylists become all that they can be.

As a Phase II Educator, she wants her class to be fun and knowledgeable. She is hands on in her teaching and will talk you through every step.

I have been described as a educator inside and out. Sharing my experiences, talents and knowledge is my passion. A memory that has always stuck with me is handing brush rollers to my grandma before I could even walk.  Seeing her connection with her clients, I understood that she was transform people inside and out. It was so powerful to me; an art! I wanted to be just like her.
I’ve worked in the field of cosmetology for as long as I have memories.
My eye has always been drawn to style and fashion and I have pursued that passion through many venues.
As an educator, I  have held my Master Cosmetology Instructor licence for over 25 years and have prior experience of instruction at Western Area Technology Center.   I studied Education and Chemistry from the University of Oklahoma and University of Central Oklahoma; graduating with a degree in elementary education. I have taught early childhood/elementary  education in four private schools.  As a stylist, I have held managing stylist positions at 5 salons throughout the state of Oklahoma, while I am currently hold a  position as a colourist here in Tulsa. I have also worked with many haircolor brands within their education department, specialising with the Framesi color family for over 10 years and have preformed on stage with many styling product companies throughout the United States. As an entrepreneur, I have owned a personal stylist business for over 15 years and am presently a managing personal stylist at J. Crew in my spare time.
Teaching here at Jenks Beauty College fulfils my love for helping others create a business out of their passion and talents.

Tarina Foster is Director of Education with 30 years of cosmetology experience and 10 years instructional experience. She holds an Associates Degree in Occupational studies along with countless certifications in business. Prior to joining the Jenks Beauty College team, she was the Cosmetology Program Director for Virginia College in Tulsa for 6 years.

She is also not only trained and certified in Pivot Point, but is also a Career Compass Certified Professional trainer. She has a wealth of knowledge in the cosmetology industry and specializes in implementing techniques in order for students to learn and understand  the information.  “This is an amazing industry with innumerable options”

Misty Harris is a Master Instructor at Jenks Beauty College. As an Oklahoma native she has over 10 years’ experience in the Salon Industry with a variety of skills being conversant in the care of textured hair, Precision haircutting, hair color and much more.

Misty is excited about helping students develop the skills they need in order to be confident in what they do to make people feel great and look amazing. She is honored to train future professionals on the latest trends, and techniques to drive a rewarding future in the Beauty industry.

Joylynn Duerson is a Master Cosmetologist with over 30 years of extensive experience working in all areas of the culture of cosmetology. Recognizing that the professional is only as good as their product knowledge and technique, joylynn has dedicated her time to education that gives results.

I am Joylynn and I am a Master Cosmetologist with over 30 yrs of extensive experience working in all areas of the culture of cosmetology. I recognized early on that the professional is only as good as their product knowledge and techniques therefore ,I have dedicated many hours learning an education that gives results.

Pre Robertson is a Master Instructor at Jenks Beauty College. Along with her broad knowledge and experience in Cosmetology, Barbering, Hair Braiding, Hair extensions, Natural Hair Care and Makeup Artistry, she holds an Associate’s degree in Cosmetology/Barbering and over a decade of experience in the beauty industry.

Pre strives to be not just an educator but also a mentor to inspire individuals to be passionate, create new paths and become trendsetters in their chosen career field.

Maria Cunningham is a JBC Master Educator graduate. She has been a licensed cosmetologist since 2011. The Cosmetology and Esthetics industry is something she has been passionate about for many years. Maria now wishes to share her many years of experience and knowledge with her students as well as learn new things with them. She hopes to not only educate, but also create an excitement through the learning experience. She will not only prepare students for their license exam but also help them acquire other special skills that will help them thrive in the modern salon and spa industry.

 
Erica Watkins is the PM Esthetics Instructor at Jenks Beauty College. She started in the industry as an esthetician in 2014. In 2016, she added full cosmetology and in 2017, master instructor to her license. Making people feel great about themselves is the best part of her job. She loves to stay on top of the latest trends and does as much continuing education as possible. Erica has experience in spa management and specializes in esthetics, particularly full body waxing and lash extensions in addition to results-driven skincare. Erica spent over 10 years in the Army National Guard, serving one combat tour to Afghanistan.

Her favorite part of teaching is helping students master practical skills that will make them stand above the competition in the industry. Erica will earn her Bachelors of Science in Sociology in the Spring of 2019, but plans to stay in the industry. Erica had a baby in January of 2018 and spends most of her time as a stay at home mother, but she has a licensed home spa where she takes clients part-time. Erica also plays rugby for the Tulsa Women’s Rugby Club and loves spending time with family and friends.
